Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to our most frequently asked questions here.

Question 1: How much money do I really need to buy a home?

Beyond the down payment (which can be as low as 3% for some loan types), you'll need to cover closing costs (typically 2–5% of the loan amount), moving expenses, and an emergency fund. I’ll help you estimate all costs upfront so there are no surprises.

Question 2: What’s the difference between a buyer’s agent and a listing agent?

A buyer’s agent represents you, the homebuyer, and negotiates in your best interest. A listing agent works for the seller. I act as your buyer’s agent, guiding you through every step, protecting your interests, and helping you make informed decisions.

Question 3: How long does it take to buy a home from start to finish?

The typical timeline is about 30 to 45 days once you're under contract. Before that, the home search process can vary—some buyers find the right home in a week, others take a few months. I help streamline the process so you're never left guessing.

Question 4: What’s included in a monthly mortgage payment?

Your monthly payment usually includes four components: Principal, Interest, Taxes, and Homeowners Insurance—often referred to as PITI. If you’re buying a condo, it may also include HOA dues. I can help you break this down based on your price range.
